About the role
Staynor hall have the exciting opportunity to recruit for a level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a child with an ECHP. The hours for this role are Monday – Friday 8.45am – 3.15pm, role is a one year fixed term positon initially.
As a Teaching Assistant you will be passionate about teaching and learning and believe in developing the true potential of children. You will have a calm and positive disposition, the ability to break down activities into small step teaching and will nurture, inspire, challenge and motivate pupils. Implementing clear boundaries and routines, you will use positive behaviour management in all areas around school.
Job requirements
We wish to recruit a highly committed Teaching Assistant who has knowledge and experience of working with children who have special educational needs.
Within this role you will also be working with and alongside a wide range of different professions all with the common goal of ensuring the best care and education is given to our children.
Good, clear and effective communication will play a key role in this position, you will need to work with and alongside the children, their families and other members of staff within the school.
You will have positive behaviour management skills, and be flexible and able to work on your own initiative.
You should have experience of working with children who have profound and multiple learning disabilities or Autism, ideally, but not necessarily in an educational setting. A relevant qualification would also be welcomed.
You will be enthusiastic and passionate about child development, play and interaction with knowledge on how you can develop this further to enhance children’s experiences.
Moving and Handling training would be desirable but training would be given if required.
