What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint a Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to our academy staff. The role requires applicants to enjoy working with children and as part of a team. The post is fixed term as it is reliant on the external funding linked to EHCPs.

Experience in supporting pupils with attachment difficulties and challenging behaviour is an essential to work within our academy as well as experience with working with children with SEND. Further training will be provided in these areas as well. A secure understanding of working using an attuned approach and the impact of adverse childhood experiences on a child are also needed. Mereside are committed to using a restorative approach to behaviour management.

Please note that the ability to communicate easily with stakeholders and provide advice in accurate spoken English is also essential for the post.
