What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors are seeking to appoint two experienced and dedicated Special Support Assistants to assist two children with additional learning needs - both in Year 1 in September.

The children have EHCPs for their learning needs. One child a diagnosis of ASD and the other child has Speech, Language and Communication needs.

We are looking for staff to support the children in all areas of the curriculum and to ensure their safety throughout the school day. An ability to differentiate some of the curriculum would be desirable so that appropriate learning materials can be modified to meet the needs of the pupils. Experience of working with ASD children/complex needs is essential.

Enthusiasm, energy and knowledge of how children learn are essential. Appropriate qualifications to Level 2 are required and GCSE in Maths and English – Grade C or above are essential.

What the school offers its staff

Lammack Community Primary School is a larger than average primary school which is desirable to work at due to the hardworking children, fantastic staff team spirit and excellent environment and facilities. ‘Warm and friendly relationships exist between pupils and their teachers. Pupils said that they feel happy, safe and secure. They enjoy being part of this large school which has a small family feel. They benefit from the care and attention that their teachers give to them.’ (Ofsted September, 2022)

The school is a Voice 21 Centre of Excellence and so can offer additional CPD opportunities around Oracy.

We can offer:

  • Well behaved, hard-working children
  • First class facilities, resources and working environment (with good links to the motorway network)
  • A positive, ambitious staff team – with a strong focus on teamwork
  • A supportive senior leadership team
  • Excellent future prospects due to the school expanding
  • CPD opportunities

‘Leaders are considerate of staff’s well-being when making decisions. Staff at the school feel well supported and part of a trusted team. They said that leaders are supportive and make time for them’ (OFSTED 2022).

This position will give the successful candidate the opportunity to join Lammack during a significant period of expansion so the successful candidate would be joining the school at the optimum time for future prospects.
