Level 2 - Teaching Assistant (Literacy Support) job summary

Meadowhead School’s Special Educational Needs Department (SEND) is looking to extend its team of Level 2 Teaching Assistants to support our students across the age and ability range, years 7 - 11.

The role will primarily be supporting students in Key Stage 3 with literacy through withdrawal interventions.

The successful candidate will join a committed and enthusiastic team of Teaching Assistants providing support for both teaching staff and students.

The working hours will be term time only (39 weeks per year) working 32.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm with 30 minutes for lunch each day

The ideal candidate will have:

  • experience and knowledge of children with special educational needs
  • a passion for improving literacy outcomes
  • be well-organised, proactive and enthusiastic
  • enjoy working in a school environment and supporting young people’s learning.
  • be a team player with good communication skills.
