Nene Valley is a calm and friendly place where you will always be made to feel welcome. We expect all children to work hard so that they make the most of the opportunities we provide for them. All staff genuinely care for each other and support each other in helping children to develop our core values.
Nene Valley is a medium sized (1.5-form entry) school, that expanded from 1 form entry due to high local demand. The school is consistently at capacity and always over-subscribed, with more than 100 applications for 45 places for entry in September 2022. Despite drops in applications throughout the
city, demand for Nene Valley remains high.
The school demography is not considered high need, with a low number of pupils eligible for pupil premium (8%), lower than average SEND (11%) and a small number of EHCPs (1%). The school does have a high number of children with English as an Additional Language (24%) and a large number of languages spoken (24) and 14 different ethnic groups. However, the majority of those native language speakers have a good and developing knowledge of English.
