What skills and experience we're looking for

Required for summer term 2024 or as soon as possible; an enthusiastic, self-motivated teaching assistant dedicated to improving the lives and education of young people.

Stradbroke is a vibrant learning community with approximately 500 pupils including a nursery and an Integrated Resource for children with special needs. The school was last inspected in July 2022 and was judged as a Good school in every measure. We are looking to appoint a positive, energetic and professional teaching assistant to add to our hard working team of support staff.

Candidates must be qualified to at least NVQ 2 level, or equivalent experience, with excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills. Experience of working within a primary school setting is desired and the ability to build good relationships with pupils and colleagues is essential. The successful candidate will have the skills to work effectively with teachers and other support staff and be able to run targeted learning with groups and individual pupils, where directed, with maximum impact, whilst also demonstrating great initiative and flexibility. Applicants must be patient, inspirational and inclusive in your work with pupils. You should demonstrate an ability to be organised and pro-active in your approach and to seek to forge good working relationships with the rest of the staff here at Stradbroke to achieve the best possible outcomes for all of our children.
