Level 3 Apprentice Teaching Assistant job summary
We are seeking to appoint a Level 3 Apprentice Teaching Assistant who will have a Physical Education (PE) and sports focus. Candidates should be passionate about sport, working with children and have a real desire to improve standards of learning in school. The role involves providing valuable, practical assistance to class teachers in the classroom, during PE lessons and in extracurricular activities.
We are looking for a reliable, flexible individual who can communicate effectively with both children and adults.
Candidates should be comfortable working with primary aged children as they may be required to work in any year group within the school.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has ambitions to work with children and is enthusiastic about sport.
As part of the role you will attend Oldham College regularly to complete the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
The role will be 36.66 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
Key Responsibilities
General Teaching Assistant duties, supporting pupils learning under the direction of the teacher both in the classroom and during PE lessons. You will prepare resources and equipment for classroom lessons and set up sports equipment for PE lessons and after school clubs. Under the direction of the teacher you will help support pupils with special education needs to access the curriculum.

Broadfield Primary School serves approximately 400 pupils in the Hathershaw area of Oldham. It also provides nursery education for pupils from 2 years of age.
