£20,444 - £22,571 (pro-rata 32.5 hours/39 weeks - permanent)/£21,000 (37 hours, 52 weeks-temporary)

The governors of Wisewood Primary School are seeking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support in class and lead targeted interventions. The successful candidate may also supervise whole classes occasionally during the short-term absence of teachers. Experience across KS2 would be advantageous.

Subject to the successful candidate meeting the eligibility criteria, there is the potential for this to be funded as an Academic Mentor role for the 2022-23 academic year with the possibility for this to be extended for a further year in 2023-24. Candidates who would be interested in this route should contact the school to discuss it further.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have gained an NVQ Level 3 qualification for classroom assistants or equivalent or have relevant experience.
  • Have very good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Have very good Maths and English Skills
  • Be flexible and adaptable
  • Be willing to work as a team player or on their own initiative
  • Be an excellent, innovative support with a commitment to promoting high standards
  • Have a willingness to undertake training

If you wish to apply through the Academic Mentor route minimum requirements for this role would be:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or graduate with 2:2 or higher
  • Must have Level 4 (Grade C) or above in GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
