Hours of Work: 32.5 hours per week across 39 weeks
Monday: 08:45 to 15:45 (13 Mondays will have a 16:30 finish for CPD)
Tuesday: 08:45 to 16:15
Wednesday: 08:45 to 15:45
Thursday: 08:45 to 15:30
Friday: 08:45 to 15:30

We have an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team as a Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant. This key role will support the teaching of students at Martin Bacon Academy.
This is a role with an opportunity to make a real difference to the learning and progress of our pupils, working to provide one-to-one and group support and teaching. You will be adapting teaching resources, thinking of new ways to learn, being fun and creative in your approach and adaptable to children's needs. Our Teaching Assistants are highly valued in our school – you will work closely with our SENDCo and SEND team to provide our children with the best possible educational opportunities. An element of your duties will also include preparation of fantastic teaching resources/class displays.

The ideal candidate:
- Will possess GCSE English & Maths Grade C (4/5) or above or equivalent.
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards this.
- Experience of supporting pupils with SEND or behavior needs would be beneficial.
- Possess outstanding communication skills and can work well in a team.
- Can be adaptable, take on board new ideas and think on their feet!
- An understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues
About Martin Bacon Academy
The Martin Bacon Academy is a state of the art, Area Special School that opened in Northstowe, Cambridgeshire, in 2020. Recently graded as Outstanding by Ofsted in all 4 areas, we cater for children and young people aged 3 to 19 who have a range of complex and significant learning needs in the area of cognition and learning (with other co-occurring conditions). This covers a wide range of needs including learners with autistic spectrum condition and those with complex physical and sensory impairments. All pupils will be provided with an exciting, balanced education which will be appropriately paced and designed to meet their individual education needs.
Since opening, The Martin Bacon Academy has forged strong link with its community. The school is situated on the same site in Northstowe at the Northstowe Learning Community, also part of Meridian Trust. This allows opportunity for collaboration between pupils and staff from The Martin Bacon Academy and other schools in Meridian Trust. Due to expansion and growth of the school we have an exciting opportunity for new Teaching Assistants to join our fantastic SEND team.
