Weatherfield Academy is a growing 7-19 age range SEN Academy with pupils who have Specific Learning Difficulties and some additional needs taught in classes of approximately 12 students. .

We are looking for an experienced practitioner, with an enthusiastic and flexible approach, working in teams alongside committed colleagues. You will be expected to play an active role in all aspects of school life. A class teaching commitment will be the main part of these roles.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

To support students experiencing literacy difficulties, on a one-to-one or small group basis, planning work and reporting on their progress as required.

Support colleagues in the assistance of students with literacy difficulties. Plan, prepare and coordinate programmes of structured learning activities and teaching programmes, as part of a student’s EHCP provision or those who have SEN Support.

Teach students with a range of additional learning needs, including but not limited to dyslexia/literacy difficulties. Prepare, adapt and differentiate resources and teaching materials. Implement programmes linked to local and national learning strategies.

A visit to the Academy is welcomed and a flexible start date available.
