What skills and experience we're looking for
- Experience of leading a room/team to deliver a high standard of care and education
- Experience of planning and delivering challenging, engaging and enjoyable activities
- An understanding of how to develop relationships with the children, enabling them to be comfortable in their surroundings and providing an environment where they can play and explore
- Approved level 6 or above qualification
- Previous experience of working in an early years’ setting
- Good interpersonal skills
- An understanding of how children learn and develop
- A commitment to continued professional development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisation and efficiency as well as dedication and commitment

Summerhill’s Little Treasures opened in July 2008 and we are registered with Ofsted to care for babies from 6 weeks old.
We have four nursery rooms within the setting, Orange Room, which accommodates babies from 6 weeks old up to 2 years old. Green Room, which accommodates 2-year-old funded children on a sessional basis. Purple Room accommodates 2 years olds who access a flexible range of sessions, and finally, Yellow Room. Yellow Room is our pre-school provision which offers 15 – 30 hour provision plus a wrap around service.
We also provide a wraparound service for Summerhill Primary
Academy pupils.
Summerhill’s Little Treasures is situated in a purpose-built building, and offers a quality childcare and educational experience, graded Outstanding in February 2023.
The setting is open Monday to
Friday 8.00am – 18.00pm, excluding bank holiday and 2 weeks at Christmas. We also offer an early bird session from 7.30am daily.
