ONSLOW ST AUDREY’S SCHOOL
37 hours per week, Term Time plus 5 INSET days
Monday - Thursday 8.00am-4.00pm, Friday 8.00am-3.30pm
H5 Point 9: £25,119 + £689 Fringe Allowance FTE (pro rata)
Actual Salary including Fringe Allowance: £22,075.04 per annum

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Librarian to join our existing team of support staff at Onslow St Audrey’s School. The ideal candidate will continually promote the value of reading throughout the school and encourage all students to read for pleasure. The Librarian will work alongside teaching staff to support and develop students’ academic reading and research skills in order for them to achieve well.

We would like you to have:
Essential:
Commitment to the safeguarding of children
Experience of ICT (Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel)
Excellent numeracy, literacy and oracy skills including English and Maths GCSE at grades A* to C
Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and multi-task and follow job instructions with a good attention to detail
Ability to communicate on all levels
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines
Ability and self-motivation to work independently
Ability to work in a team and be part of the wider life and ethos of the school
A passion and enthusiasm for reading and books (particularly Young Adult fiction)
Understand the importance of literacy for young people
Ability to understand the needs of students, staff and visiting professionals
A natural aptitude to model the Trust’s core behaviours – ‘We display transparency, kindness and respect in all our interactions with others, and support each other in all our endeavours. We are tenacious in our desire to make the difference together’
Desirable:
Knowledge of school procedures, including safeguarding
Experience of using the SIMs MIS package and Library software
Prior experience of working in a school or school library and to be educated to a minimum of A Level standard
Prior experience of working with young people in a secondary setting
