What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a part-time Library Assistant. The primary role will be to manage the library such that it enhances the educational provision within the school, supports teaching and learning and provides students with a positive environment conducive to the concept of learning in the widest sense. The library should support the curriculum the students follow, as well as providing a wide range of other resources both fiction and non-fiction which will excite and engage our students.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a passion for reading in order to support and develop reading for pleasure in our pupils. We are looking for an individual who will inspire young people to work hard and achieve their very best. Our library assistant will combine a warm and caring approach with high standards of professionalism. We open our library throughout the school day, including break times, lunch times and after school in order to build a strong reading ethos and culture at Alderman White. We want every child to become an avid and successful reader, regardless of their reading ability.

You will need to be energetic, supportive and a positive team player with excellent communication skills and be willing to offer a wide contribution to our school.
