Further details about the role
The main responsibilities of this role are:
- To work with identified students who would benefit from additional literacy and numeracy intervention to support their development of literacy and numeracy-based skills.
- To contribute to the coordination of the reading programmes. analysis of assessment data, as evidence of students’ progress and to accurately identify students who need extra help.
- To organise intervention plans, informed by data, for each student needing help, identifying relevant strategies for reading, writing and speaking and numeracy.
- To develop a mentoring relationship with students needing particular support to achieve the goals defined in the action plan.
- To model, encourage and promote high standards and engagement in literacy and numeracy and promote positive attitudes among our Academy community including through parent liaison.
- To work closely with the whole-Academy Assistant Principal (Aspirations and Impact), other relevant leaders and class teachers in assisting students to achieve their academic potential.
To work closely with a range of subject areas to improve the standards of literacy and numeracy across the Academy and to support staff to understand the requirements of disciplinary literacy and numeracy
