Literacy Intervention Tutor job summary
We are looking for a passionate and inspiring Literacy Intervention Tutor to join our supportive and talented team at John Cabot Academy. We are a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning.
This role is initially being offered on a Fixed Term Contract, due to end on 31 August 2022.
What we are looking for:
The Literacy and ESOL Intervention Tutor: Complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for developing and delivering agreed literacy intervention learning activities under an appropriate system of supervision including delivering tuition to ESOL students at all stages of English language development. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities or being responsible for specific provision for individuals/groups/whole classes. Take a significant role in the educational, personal and social development of designated students, advancing literacy related learning under the direction and guidance of the English Leader, SENCO and class teachers. Support students to achieve best outcomes by employing relevant strategies developed as a result of significant experience, specialist knowledge, skill and expertise. Conduct literacy and SEN diagnostic assessments in relation to support exams access arrangements.
