Literacy Support Officer
Contract: Permanent
Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, term time plus 5 days
Salary: Grade 4 (NJC scale points 6 - 8), £22,389 - £24,038 per annum

About the RoleAs Literacy Support Officer, you will play a key role in promoting a love of reading across the school. Working closely with the Literacy Lead, you will support the running and development of our library resource centre, coordinate reading initiatives, and provide targeted literacy interventions for students.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to young people’s literacy, confidence, and engagement with learning.
About YouWe are looking for someone who:
- Has strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills
- Has excellent communication skills and can build positive relationships with young people.
- Works well as part of a team and can manage their own workload effectively.
- Is enthusiastic about reading and literacy development.
- Has experience in a school library or learning support environment
- A welcoming and inclusive school community with students from over 35 language backgrounds.
