Lunchtime Assistant job summary

The Batt School, St Mary’s Infants, Witney and The Oxford Diocesan Schools’ Trust (ODST) are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and preventing extremism; all staff must ensure that the highest priority is given to following the guidance and regulations to safeguard children and young people. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and obtain any other statutorily required clearance. Employment will also be conditional on the receipt of at least two acceptable references (1 from current/latest employer) and evidence of the formal qualifications required for the role. Online searches will be undertaken at shortlisting stage.

We seek to appoint a caring and reliable person to contribute to providing a happy and safe lunchtime environment for our pupils. The role fulfils an important part of our school day, so we are seeking a calm and confident individual who is resilient to the pressures of the lunchtime environment.

The role is suitable for those who have a passion for working with children and will involve supporting children eating in the hall and arranging activities outside. The hours are 11:45-13:00 each day/6.25 hours per week.

Applicants will ideally have previous experience of working with young people and will be committed to personal learning and development.

The post is offered at Grade 2.

The school is part of the Oxford Diocesan School’s Trust, a multi-academy trust consisting of 43 schools across Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
