What skills and experience we're looking for
We are currently looking to appoint a Lunchtime Organiser to provide high quality support over lunchtimes for pupils aged from EYFS - 8 years, who have a range of special educational needs. This role will be commenced upon the completion of all employment checks.
This is a permanent role, working 13 hours per week, term time only. The post is a Grade 2, the starting pro-rata salary is £7,479 to reflect the working hours. The full time equivalent salary is £24,027.
Main responsibilities:
- To help create an atmosphere so that the meal and lunchtime recreation is a pleasant experience for pupils and staff.
- To supervise students in the dining area/s and elsewhere as required by the Head teacher.
- Attend to the physical needs of students as required such as, feeding, toilet needs, changing and hand washing.
- Responsible for implementing policies and procedures relating to standards of Education, Health and Safety and Care and to carry out those procedures competently.
- To carry out all the policies in the staff handbook after training, maintaining procedures in line with statutory regulations, Health and Safety, Manual Handling, etc.
Key skills and experience:
- The ability to understand as well as supervise children and young people.
- Experience of working with children/young people with communication, severe, profound or complex learning difficulties.
- Ability to attend to students’ personal needs, including pastoral, social, health, physical hygiene i.e. toileting and changing, minor first aid and welfare matters.
- To be aware of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety and security, confidentiality and data protection.
- To communicate clearly and be able to understand written and verbal instructions.

Prospect House is a new free special primary school which opened temporarily on the Grange School site in September 2020. In June of 2022, the school community moved into the permanent school site in Higher Blackley North Manchester. The school is the first school in the Trust to be open north of the city offering places for children with very significant learning needs and other associated additional needs, aged 3 – 11 years old. The brand new purpose built site offers specialist facilities including a state-of-the-art hydropool including changing room to pool hoisting, ASC friendly classrooms and corridors, Food Technology Room, Library, Immersive Learning Room, Sensory Regulation Room, Parent Room, Pets as Therapy Dogs (Alfie and Ovie) and two KuneKune Pigs (Sebastian and Dolores).
