Lunchtime Supervisor job summary

City Road Primary School

(part of the Inspire Education Community Trust)

is seeking to appoint lunchtime supervisors

Contract Hours: 5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Monday to Friday

(There may be opportunities to work additional hours)

We are seeking to appoint lunchtime supervisors who understands the importance of play and will be able to support and facilitate the play process.

The successful candidates will need to be reliable, flexible, work well in a team and be committed to making lunch time experiences fun and engaging for all children.

All children and young people need to play. The impulse to play is innate, it is fundamental to the healthy development and well-being of individuals. Research shows that play contributes to children’s physical and emotional health, well-being, approach to learning and enjoyment of school.

Your Opportunity

We are looking for candidates who can bring new ideas for how to raise the profile of play, physical activity, and social communication. We are looking for staff to help deliver high quality and well supervised play activities during lunchtime.

The successful candidates will support the active supervision of children in the dining and play areas to ensure the welfare and safety of children during school lunch breaks.

We are looking for pro-active individual to work collaboratively and flexibly within our team, build good working relationships with both children and adults and demonstrate a respectful and caring attitude towards all our children.

This post is a customer-facing position and falls within the scope of the Code of Practice on English Language Requirement for Public Sector Workers. The school has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the JD/Person Specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.
