Lunchtime supervisors - term time only job summary
We are looking for an additional Lunchtime Supervisor to join our friendly lunchtime team. We are looking to appoint someone with a desire to work with children and help make the lunchtime period a happy and safe experience.
The successful candidate for the post will:
- Take instructions from the Senior Lunchtime Supervisor and senior staff regarding the supervision of children throughout the lunchtime, having regard for school policies on behaviour.
- Help maintain a tidy and safe dining hall at all times (removal of spillage, handling cases of illness, etc).
- Provide any necessary assistance to children in respect of portion control, difficult food, cleaning of plates/containers and seating arrangements.
- Supervise pupils during the lunchtime period and tackle and report accidents, incidents and unruly behaviour as appropriate.
- Ensure that all dining and other areas are cleared of pupils at the relevant time.
- Supervise designated areas, both inside and outside, during the lunchtime period.
- Be required to undertake other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility defined in this description.
- Be highly motivated and work well as part of a team.
- Be committed to the safeguarding and well-being of all children.
- Support the positive and caring ethos of the school.
Contract term: Fixed term to July 2025 in the first instance. Term time only.
Start Date: To be agreed with candidate.
Salary: Band 3 Spinal column point 2. Actual hourly rate £11.91 per hour
Hours: Number of hours per week to be agreed but will be between the hours of 11.40am and 1.15pm Monday to Friday. Actual hours of work might vary according to the needs of the school . Occasional extra hours may be offered.
Location: The job would be most suited to someone who lives locally or within a relatively short driving distance. The school postcode is BD13 5DA.
