Mainstream Autism Base teacher and leader job summary
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Mainstream Autism Base (MAB) Leader to join our team. You will have the responsibility for leadership and management, assessment and teaching within the Base and for integrating the children into the main school. This post will provide an exciting opportunity for a successful practitioner to use their own skills and lead others in supporting pupils with ASD. It requires a high level of independence and excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will manage the work of the base, which involves supporting a group of pupils with ASD which can include children from Reception age up to year 8. You will lead a team of teaching assistants in providing for the needs of pupils at the ASD base on a flexible and tailored basis. You may also, on occasions, provide advice and guidance to mainstream staff, in schools in the area.
