Maintenance Technician job summary

Ideally you will be an experienced and practical, hands-on trades person confident with a good working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or other trades but the Trust will provide full training and an opportunity to gain accreditation/qualifications in specific trades where required.

You should thrive working part of a team, have pride in your own work with high standards and be keen to obtain the best learning environment for our pupils with limited resources. The role will involve travel between school sites on a regular basis.

You would be joining a nurturing and caring working environment underpinned by a Catholic ethos and educational focus, whose aim is for every pupil to leave with a strong moral purpose, high aspirations, and immense pride in what they have achieved during their time in our schools. 

Purpose:


To be part of a Trust Maintenance team responsible for improving, maintaining and managing schools’ sites including the buildings, grounds fixtures and fittings.  Act as first line of contact between the Heads and Trust Maintenance Manager in relation to site issues and schools’ health and safety, being allocated tasks across a group of schools within a geographical area.  

Key Responsibilities:


Completing tasks to maintain all school site buildings and grounds ensuring all internal and external areas are fit for purpose, safe, well maintained and secure.  Undertake semi-skilled repairs and maintenance tasks as allocated, reporting ay faults and damage to School Operations Coordinator and Trust Maintenance Manager. Maintain all furniture, fittings & equipment and, high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the site.   As instructed by the Trust Operations team ensuring adherence and compliance with all statutory and centralised Trust requirements including health and safety, risk assessments, planned maintenance works and efficient provision of utilities and energy.
