Manager of Careers and Employer Engagement job summary
About the role: The Leigh UTC has a fantastic opportunity to appoint a Manager of Careers and Employer Engagement. We are seeking a well-organised, capable and self-motivated individual who is passionate about the positive impact careers education can have on the lives of young people. The successful candidate will manage our careers education and support subject areas, pastoral teams and all students within the academy.
Working towards meeting all of the Gatsby benchmarks, the role will provide an excellent opportunity to further develop our existing careers and employer engagement offering. Communication skills and the capacity to develop, communicate and implement innovative ideas for the CEIAG delivery is essential if we are to continue our provision.
Given the varied nature of the role, the successful candidate must be approachable and have a pro-active and flexible attitude to all tasks. In return, you will work alongside experienced and supportive colleagues and the role has the opportunity for professional development.

The working basis for this role is 37 hours per week during Term Time + 2 weeks of inset. The salary is advertised as £26,940 - £29,390 per annum (£30,538 - £33,316 full time equivalent), which is commensurate with experience and the scope that you bring to this role.

Working with us: Having opened in September 2014 with state-of-the-art facilities originally for Key Stage 4 and 5, The Leigh UTC provides an exciting, innovative, business-led, problem-solving curriculum, enabling students to achieve relevant work-related qualifications and transferable skills for future training or employment. In September 2017, following the request of the Department for Education due to our continued success, The Leigh UTC marked history by expanding its student intake to incorporate Key Stage 3 – the first UTC in the UK to do this. Furthermore, being the first UTC to have IB World School Status has enabled us to develop strong links in Germany and Qatar. Having IB Status will enable us to further develop the mid-years programme (MYP) for our Key Stage 3 students and thus providing a joined-up pathway from ages 11 to 19. The overarching mission of the Inspiration Academy is to develop curious, academically-skilled young people who aspire to be principled, compassionate learners. Our curriculum strives to create students who are self-motivated, competent, willing to take risks and lifelong learners.
