Essential:
- QTS and the meeting of Teacher
Standards
- Sympathetic to, and supportive of school ethos
- A good communicator with well-developed oral and written skills
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of high quality teaching and learning provision and the ability to put this into practice
- Experience of carrying out pupil assessment and maintaining effective assessment records to inform AFL
- A clear understanding of how children learn and the strategies for raising pupil achievement and increasing progress
- Ability to develop positive relationships with children, colleagues, parents and outside agencies.
- High expectations and role modelling
- Knowledge of child protection and health and safety procedures
- Commitment to ongoing CPD
- Good sense of humour and sense of fun!
Desirable:
- Computing/ICT capable (teaching and learning)
- Good understanding of Inclusion
- Experience of leading a subject area
- Experience of developing or leading initiatives or projects within a school
- Ability to create community links including collaboration with other schools
- Willing to run an extra-curricular club

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, reliable class teacher to work in our popular school from September 2024. This position is for a maternity cover.
Upon successful completion of the maternity cover a discretionary bonus may be awarded.
The school is proud of its results and the reputation it has in the local area. Our Ofsted inspection report comments on the good quality of education and positive, inclusive nature of the school.

Information about the school

Singlewell school has a warm, family feel and is situated in a pleasant, leafy site on the outskirts of Gravesend. The school has been expanded to two form entry from September 2016 and had a new building constructed. We are now at full capacity with two classes in each year group from Reception through to Year 6. All classes have support assistants. We are very lucky to have modern buildings and facilities and spacious grounds.
Our Ofsted inspection recognised that Singlewell is a Good school. Progress and attainment are high across the school and teaching is good. It stated that attendance is high, behaviour is good and children enjoy coming to school. Pupils are eager to learn and work enthusiastically together. There are very positive relationships between pupils and staff.
