The Opportunity?
We are seeking to appoint inspiring, enthusiastic and vibrant Teachers of Mathematics to join our well-established department. This post would be equally appropriate for an experienced or a newly qualified teacher. The successful applicant will be required to teach Mathematics at KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach A-Level Mathematics available for a suitably qualified candidate. You will join an outstanding Mathematics Team, who pride themselves on their innovative approach to supporting every student to achieve their full potential. Who are we?
Mathematics is a thriving department with a proven track record of outstanding student achievement at GCSE and particularly at Advanced level. All Maths lessons are taught in specialist rooms at both the Thurston and the Beyton Campuses, equipped with the latest AV equipment. Mathematics is a popular subject in the Sixth Form with a large uptake at Advanced Level where courses in A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics are currently offered.

Thurston Community College is a large popular mixed comprehensive school. It comprises of two distinct and specialist sites. Our Thurston Campus, for students from Year 7 to Year 11 is situated four miles east of Bury St Edmunds. Thurston Sixth; Beyton Campus is located in the nearby village of Beyton, offering a bespoke centre of excellence for students in Year 12 and Year 13. Both locations provide an exciting, dynamic learning environment, where students display a positive attitude to learning and make good progress.
