What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic Maths teacher to join us as we enter a new and exciting phase of the school’s development. You will ideally be able to teach a small number of Business classes. This post would be suitable for an ECT or a more experienced teacher.

We are looking for staff of the highest calibre who have an excellent understanding of the subject and have the ability to motivate, challenge and inspire our students and are capable of making a positive contribution to teaching and learning at Samuel Ward Academy.

What the school offers its staff

We were inspected by Ofsted at the beginning of November 2022 and are very pleased that Samuel Ward Academy has been graded good in all areas. The report shows that very substantial progress has been made since the previous inspection in 2019.

We can offer excellent induction and training to support professional development to all at a school level.

As a department we can offer opportunities to work across our subjects developing skills in Maths, Computer Studies, Business and Economics. You would be joining a trail blazing team that works across KS3-5 and this opportunity will provide the right candidate experience at all key stages as well as opportunities in curriculum development and a potential to lead a key stage.

Samuel Ward is a highly successful oversubscribed 11-18 co-educational academy. We are situated in pleasant surroundings on the western edge of Suffolk, within easy reach of Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds. We benefit from excellent facilities, and our new £10m building opened in April 2019.
