A little about us and our department;
We are delighted to be making an appointment for the position of Teacher of Maths for our high achieving, Ofsted Outstanding, 11-18 academy in the delightful market town of Easingwold, North Yorkshire just 14 miles away from the historic city of York.
Outwood Academy Easingwold has one of the the highest performing Post 16 centres in North Yorkshire and our GCSE results are one of the highest for non-selective schools, an achievement we are incredibly proud of. We were delighted to be named 15th best state school in the North of England by the Times newspaper in 2024.
This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, enthusiastic and inspiring classroom practitioner to join our fantastic Maths Department at Easingwold. They will work with us as part of the team who have rapidly transformed the school to one that offers outstanding provision up to A level and is the school of choice in its community. Outcomes in the Maths Department are well above the national average with substantial numbers of students achieving the top grades. Maths is one of our most popular A level courses and we are also delighted that so many students opt to study Further Maths at GCSE and A level. In addition we also offer Core Maths in the Sixth Form to supplement A level choices. The maths department consists of a faculty leader and a second in department as well as a supportive and dedicated team of seven maths specialists. You will find our team and our school friendly and supportive with a real passion for raising standards and transforming lives.
Outwood Grange Academies Trust is right at the forefront of maths education, both in terms of ensuring students are taught maths for deep understanding, and in enabling every student to leave school with a maths qualification that opens doors for them. We have a curriculum that allows for this and the training and support for Teachers to feel confident to facilitate this for all. We have a great training package for ECTs and Teachers new to the academy including: Teaching for Mastery; Open Classroom events; Maths Matters; Reasoning at KS3; weekly professional development time and further programmes free through the Outwood Institute of Education.
