Maths Teacher job summary
We are recruiting for a passionate, energetic and well-established Teacher of Mathematics to join our Mathematics Department at Pool Hayes Academy, Academy Transformation Trust.
The successful candidate must be an exceptional educator with vision, tenacity, optimism, strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to inspire students to achieve their very best in a progressive, dynamic and improving Academy.
You will be joining a rapidly improving Mathematics Department which has been ranked in the top 1% of schools nationally for the improved progress made by students in the summer 2019 GCSE exams. The department use a bespoke five-year scheme of work tirelessly, to enforce high expectations of the students.
Responsibility, Aspiration, Perseverance and Success (RAPS), our academy ethos is embedded into all of our young people, in an attempt to help our students proactively get ahead by participating in a number of cutting-edge learning initiatives.
Within the maths department, we pride ourselves on involving our pupils in everything we do. Therefore, the House and Student Councils (HASC), constantly advise SLT and MLT offering suggestions and sharing their ideas, providing the HASC with a sense of involvement and responsibility.
Mathswatch is used for homework and in conjunction with regular feedback from lessons, module tests and exams students are encouraged to independently develop their understanding of the topics they have covered.
The Doddle app allows pupils to manage their homework with input from their parents, whilst the Linguascope language learning platform aims to give them the vocabulary to do business in today’s globalised world.
Being apart of such a large MAT, ATT, we are fortunate to have a wide range of sources to share best practice across a substantial network of academies, develop highly effective, student-centred approaches to teaching that will keep us at the forefront of teaching and learning.

Based in Willenhall, in the West Midlands, Pool Hayes Academy is an academy for 11-18 year old students that retains strong links within our local community and beyond.
The academy draws its students largely from the Willenhall area. We have experienced substantial growth in recent years and the academy is now a provider of choice in the area and is over-subscribed.

Student outcomes in 2019 saw a significant improvement in student progress and attainment. In 2018, the academy secured Good grades for Personal Development, Behaviour & Welfare and 16 to 19 Study programmes but there is still work to do to establish Pool Hayes Academy as a truly outstanding provider.
