Maths Teacher job summary

The Maths Department is a highly successful and cohesive team who work effectively and supportively to ensure that our students make excellent progress and enjoy the subject. Year after year our students make superb progress, significantly higher than national standards. Progress at GCSE level is exceptionally strong with progress 8 scores of 0.84 and 0.83 in 2024 and 2023 respectively. A level Maths is one of the most popular subjects at KS5 with three classes in both year 12 and year 13. A level performance is also exceptionally strong with over 40% of students achieving A* or A grades. We also run a successful Further Maths course with over 60% of students achieving A* to A in 2024. All students are given opportunities to further develop their interests through a range of extracurricular opportunities which include UKMT Maths challenges across all key stages, visits to institutes of higher learning and trips to organisations that recruit Mathematicians.
