MFL Teacher job summary
All interviews will be done through Skype once shortlisting has been done.
Job purpose:
• To prepare and teach lessons that fulfil the planned curriculum for MFL and meet the needs of all students.
• To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students.
• To facilitate and encourage a learning environment which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential and personal best.
• To contribute to raising standards of students’ attainment.
Specific responsibilities:
• Ensure a high quality learning experience for all students following the schools policies and schemes at all Key Stages.
• Plan, resource and teach courses and lessons in compliance with school policies, the National Curriculum and external syllabus requirements.
• Use own assessments and available data to inform planning and to ensure lessons support and challenge all abilities.
• Ensure that core skills are being developed and reinforced as student’s progress across all Key Stages.
• Establish and maintain a purposeful learning environment, setting high expectations for students’ behaviour within lessons and following departmental and school policies.
• Contribute to and develop extra-curricular activities and clubs which challenge and enhance students’ learning opportunities and experiences.
• Assess, record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of students and to keep such records as are required.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress towards achieving attainment targets and implement departmental intervention strategies when necessary.
• Mark, grade and give written/verbal and diagnostic feedback following the schools assessment structure.
• Assist in the development of resources, schemes of work, course structures, policies and teaching strategies.
• Liaise with colleagues as appropriate to plan and deliver courses in a collaborative way.
• Communicate effectively with parents when required.
Accountability:
• Percentage of students on target or above target to make their minimum expected grade.
• Progress 8 score above 0.
