MFL Teacher - Spanish to KS5, French to KS4 job summary
Be part of a growing team of passionate linguists who share their enthusiasm with pupils and staff within a global and multilingual environment!
You will join a vibrant and well-resourced MFL department with a supportive SLT. This year, all members of the MFL Department have attended CPD training with AQA and have joined the National Centre for Excellence for Language Pedagogy.
We are seeking to appoint an excellent teacher to join our MFL department. This year we have introduced Spanish A Level for the first time, you will therefore be able to teach Spanish as your main language to KS5. French to KS3 is desired but not essential. The department are committed to raising attainment; you will have the ability to motivate our students to succeed and develop their love of languages. We use ActiveLearn, Exampro, Quizlet and are developing our use of Knowledge Organisers.
We run many trips and clubs to strengthen pupils’ love and understanding of languages and allowing them new experiences. This year, these have included a French Escape Room, Spanish Cooking and Karaoke, Mandarin Club, plus a day trip to Boulogne sur Mer. We are always open to new ideas!
Just 30 minutes by train from Central London, The Highcrest Academy is the first All Ability Academy in in the county of Buckinghamshire. It is culturally diverse and a vibrant school making it a fantastic place to teach. We have some students who will need all your support and yet we also featured in the national Ofsted report (2016) for providing challenge to the most able. Does this enthuse you?
There are approximately 950 students on roll, which includes the Sixth Form. A new building programme, just completed, comprises a brand new Sixth Form Centre, sports facilities including a gym and a new restaurant and coffee shop for both students and staff.
If you are passionate about education and want to really make a difference to the lives of young people then The Highcrest Academy could be the school for you; a thriving school in the heart of the community, with free on-site parking, staff recognition schemes and free gym to counter the “Friday Biscuits” and on-site coffee shop!
We will arrange a Zoom interview as soon as you apply for this role.
Please note, we reserve the right to close the advert early so please apply as soon as possible.
