Elmtree is a warm, welcoming, vibrant two form entry Infant and Nursery School situated in Chesham. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic person to join our Team as a Midday Supervisor. This role is permanent, starting as soon as possible. The contract is 6.75 hours per week during term time (1 hours 20 per day). The salary per annum is £3507.

At Elmtree our pupils are at the heart of everything we do or think. We aim to help children develop a lively, inquiring mind and to encourage them to question and evaluate all things. We hope to foster stability and self control, which will help the children to cope with problems of all kinds. Our purpose is to increase their ability to concentrate and apply themselves to tasks. We endeavour to help the gradual unfolding of talents and personality in all children and to encourage independence and responsibility.

Duties include:

Supervise and care for all pupils on the school premises during the lunch period, both in the school buildings and grounds. This involves supervision of children before, during and after they have eaten lunch.

Work as a team with other Midday Supervisory Assistants including assisting children with lunchboxes and hot dinners.

Organise and supervise suitable play activities to ensure children have a happy lunchtime break, including any timetabled play activities and are inclusive in their play.

Care for children who have minor accidents, administering First Aid and action taken in the medical book.

Support children with self care and helping children to change clothing, if necessary.

Promote good hygiene at all times.

Successful candidates will be enthusiastic, caring and self-motivated people with strong communication skills, who enjoy interacting and working with children aged 3-7 years old. First Aid Experience desirable, but not essential as this can be provided.
