What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a Midday Supervisor to join our team of staff. The successful candidate will be able to supervise pupils throughout the lunchtime period with the primary focus on maintaining good order and ensuring students are well behaved, polite and courteous and meeting our high expectations. We require an individual who will embrace the ethos of the College.

Responsibilities include:

  • To supervise students in the area in which they eat their lunch
  • To assist and supervise the clearing away and tidying of the eating area
  • Supervise students either inside or outside of the school building when they have finished eating
  • Be vigilant of the health, safety, welfare and security of the students during lunch time
  • Attending to accidents during lunchtime in accordance with College procedures
  • Take appropriate action in response to misconduct in accordance with the College Behaviour Policy
  • Ensuring students’ safety at lunch times
  • Offering comfort and support for children who are distressed by any situation
  • Supervise students returning to formal lessons/ registration time at the end of lunchtime
  • To undertake relevant training as required

The ideal candidate will need to be an excellent role model for young people and who can reinforce our culture of high aspirations and expectations. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to taking initiative, commitment to the safeguarding and care of young people and to provide support for College staff during lunchtimes.
