What skills and experience we're looking for
When you ask children at Horley Infant School what they did today, they’ll often tell you “We had lunch!”. Lunchtimes are such an important part of the day to a child and we need a reliable and enthusiastic team player to join the Horley Infant School midday team to make our lunchtimes legendary! In our latest Staff Wellbeing Survey, our school staff reported an 11% greater level of job satisfaction than the national benchmark. Maybe this could be your moment to join us?
We all like to roll our sleeves up and get stuck in here at Horley Infants. With the midday team, you will help set up and clear furniture within the dining hall, supervise children and support the move from dependence to independence during lunchtime both in the dining hall and playground. Our Midday Supervisor team ensure the children have an enjoyable and sociable lunchtime experience as well as encouraging healthy eating and good manners. You will also help engage and enhance the team and children in a wide range of games and activities whilst promoting positive play and behaviour and helping children build relationships with others.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is patient, tolerant, sympathetic and fair
- Can initiate play and encourage children to be the best version of themselves
- Is hard working and conscientious
- Has excellent listening skills
- Can work independently, show initiative and stay calm under pressure
- Has an ability to build strong, trusting relationships
- Supports our OPAL (Outdoor Play & Learning) work – see more information on our school website!
