Your Purpose

As Middle Leader, you will be responsible for leading and developing English and Oracy across the school. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to implement strategies that support our students’ progress and help them overcome barriers to learning. You will design a curriculum that not only engages students but also nurtures their communication skills as a foundation for their future success.

You will:

  • Inspire pupils to understand the importance of reading, writing, speaking, and listening as essential tools for success.

  • Develop and oversee long-term and medium-term planning to ensure high standards in teaching and learning.

  • Lead the delivery of literacy and oracy programs across the school, ensuring continuous progress.

  • Coordinate interventions and monitor progress to ensure all students can achieve their best.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Leadership: Manage the literacy curriculum, reading sessions, and library resources. Drive literacy and oracy across the school, ensuring continuity and progress.

  • Teaching Excellence: Lead by example in delivering high-quality lessons. Ensure students receive tailored learning experiences that meet their specific needs.

  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Track the progress and attainment of students, utilizing assessments to inform planning and interventions.

  • Staff Development: Support, guide, and develop staff to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum and high standards of teaching.

  • Culture of Learning: Foster a positive, inclusive, and ambitious culture of learning that empowers students to achieve their personal and academic goals.
