Modern Foreign Languages Teacher (French) - Maternity Cover job summary

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated French Teacher (Maternity Cover) to join our Modern Foreign Languages department. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching French at GCSE level and, preferably, at A Level. The ability to speak an additional language would be a desirable, preferably German. We are looking for a teacher who sets high standards for both their students and themselves, and who can inspire and motivate pupils to reach their full potential.

The MFL department is a close-knit, thriving team that benefits from impressive resources and a supportive working environment. Our programmes of study across all key stages are designed to challenge and engage students of all abilities. The department has a strong track record of academic success, with 85.9% of pupils achieving grades 9 – 7 in GCSE French in 23-24. French remains a popular subject at A Level, where students continue to excel. Our most recent externally assessed results in 23-24 saw 100% of students achieving grades A*– C. Similarly, the German department upheld its strong reputation, with 81.1% of students achieving grades 9 – 7 at GCSE, and once again, 100% of A Level students securing grades A – C*.

This position would suit a committed teacher seeking to refine and enhance their teaching practice within a nurturing and well-supported environment, alongside a competitive salary.
