We are delighted to be making an appointment for the position of Teacher of MFL for our high achieving, Ofsted Outstanding, 11-18 academy in North Yorkshire.
Outwood Academy Easingwold has one of the highest performing Post 16 centres in North Yorkshire and our GCSE results are one of the highest for non-selective schools, an achievement we are incredibly proud of.
Collaboration is at the heart of the Languages Department at Outwood Academy Easingwold where we teach French and Spanish to A level, therefore Spanish to A Level would be an advantage. The department is housed in a suite of rooms all equipped with PCs and visualisers, we work together on all aspects of teaching from lesson planning to decision making. Our department prides itself in keeping abreast of pedagogical developments and we have an agreed outlook and work together to achieve our goal. We offer enrichment support to all students. In Year 7 we organise an oversubscribed residential to France for our students to immerse themselves in French culture and build on their love for languages. Our results are excellent at GCSE and A level. In 2023, 78% of our GCSE students achieved grade 5+ with 31.7% of students getting grade 7+, with 100% A*-C for our Y13 students. Our success is built on dedication, rigour and enthusiasm for our subject which is highly respected across the school.
At OA Easingwold, you will be expected to teach both languages across KS3 and at least one to KS4 and KS5. As part of the team, you will be asked to contribute to the planning, resourcing and sharing of EPI lessons.
So if you have a PGCE and have a passion for Language teaching and would love to inspire a new generation of tolerant, inquisitive world citizens then our school is the place for you!
Please note that CVs will not be accepted, however, if you would like an informal conversation, further information or to view the school please contact L.Sirvin@easingwold.outwood.com Head of Department and we will be happy to assist.
If you share our vision, then why not join our family?
