Motor Vehicle Instructor job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher who can deliver Motor Vehicle Skills to our students to give them the opportunity for a brighter future.

We are looking for a teacher who is innovative in their approach to achieving the desired results for our students, someone who can empower young people to see the importance of qualifications as a foundation to a successful journey in life.


We are looking for someone who:  

  • Shares our vision of “Learning together in pursuit of happiness” and applies that to all they do in their work.   

  • Has an interest or experience in teaching a Mechanics Vocational Course at Level 1 and 2 

  • Has passion/enthusiasm for the subject and can bring this to life through teaching. 

  • Has a particular interest in teaching students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from main stream education. 

  • Is qualified to a Level 3 Mechanics or hold a PCGE/Cert Ed and has three years industrial experience in the motor vehicle industry. 

  • Can coach and support students in all aspects of mechanics skills.  

  • Can supervise, train and assess students in all workshop areas. 

  • Is a highly motivated and flexible individual who can form positive relationships with students with a wide range of special needs, including behavioural, in order to make a difference for some of the most vulnerable adolescents across Poole.  

  • Ideally has previous experience of working with students with behavioural difficulties is desirable. 

  •   A flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
