The First Federation Trust, a Multi Academy Trust of 29 primary schools across Devon and Dorset, including Mrs Ethelston's CE Primary Academy.
Mrs Ethelston’s Church of England Primary Academy is situated in the lovely village of Uplyme, which adjoins Lyme Regis. We have close links with other schools in both Dorset and Devon, and we are a feeder school to The Woodroffe School. We make the most of our rural location with visits around the local area, and are also proud to be part of the Jurassic Coast and the many unique learning opportunities this provides.
Mrs Ethelston’s has close and happy links with St Peter and St Pauls Church and is very much a community school and although the children come from a fairly wide area, they are encouraged to feel involved in village life. There are many links with the village of Uplyme creating a real partnership with the local community.
The First Federation Trust are seeking to appoint for a combined Breakfast Club Worker and Teaching Assistant post at Mrs Ethelston's CE Primary Academy.
Breakfast Club Playworker
We are looking for a warm and caring individual to support our wrap around care facility at our school.
The key purpose of the job is to:
- Safeguard children during the breakfast/after school sessions
- Preparing and assisting with activities for the children on site
- Supervising any relevant meals/snacks required
Teaching Assistant
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated individual to work alongside the class teacher to support teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- To deliver targeted interventions
- To promote inclusion through the development of social skills, language and emotional well-being
- To work under the direction of the class teacher and liaise with other professionals both within and outside the school
- You will be expected to show a high degree of initiative and be able to react to given situations with integrity and compassion
You should:
- Be able to build a strong and appropriate rapport with children;
- Demonstrate the aptitude to work as part of a successful team;
- Have effective communication skills;
- Be able to support children in their play, while maintaining the children's safety and following the school's behaviour guidelines;
- Be able to demonstrate good food hygiene practices and follow the school health and safety policies
You would be working alongside a wonderful team of supportive staff with strong links through the Multi Academy Trust.
Fixed term until 31 August 2025, 16.25 hours per week. Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 11.15am
