Music Learning Mentor job summary
We are looking to appoint highly motivated, enthusiastic Music Learning Mentor with the passion and skills to plan and deliver an engaging Music curriculum to our pupils. The successful candidate will be someone who shares our commitment to providing personalised education programmes that place each learner at the centre of their educational programme.
This role will suit someone with a passion for Music and an ability to engage young people – the key personality trait we are looking for is someone with a real drive for supporting vulnerable young people to achieve their potential, and with a clear passion for Music and the ability to inspire disaffected learners.
About You
It is likely that the successful applicant will have experience as a music teacher/tutor, or might perhaps be a musician looking for their first step in to Teaching dissafected young people. Applicants might be classically trained musicians, a DJ, or someone with music technology/recording/video skills.
You will have practical experience of working with children and young people who have been disaffected learners and have a good understanding of the factors that may affect their learning. You will be a confident teacher/tutor, non-judgemental, flexible and creative in your approach.
This vacancy is a part time (2 days a week) role.

The Fermain Academy is an Alternative Provision Free School that opened its doors on the 1st September 2015 and part of the YES Trust. We now require someone to join our team as a Music Learning Mentor. We require an individual who is enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated, who would like to provide a key role in supporting our SEN Students.
