Music Teacher job summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver stimulating lessons that inspire a love of learning in our pupils

  • Assess pupil progress and provide regular feedback to support their development

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the music curriculum

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Trust to share best practises and ensure consistency in teaching and learning

  • Run co-curricular Able, Gifted and Talented and/or support activities as may be required

  • including entering external competitions.

  • Participate in continuous professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest pedagogical approaches and technological advancements

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Degree in a relevant subject

  • Proven experience in teaching music

  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the latest curriculum and assessment requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with pupils, parents, and colleagues

  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners

  • Commitment to promoting the safeguarding and well-being of children

Desirable Qualities:

  • Experience in leading or coordinating digital and computing initiatives within a school setting

  • Familiarity with a range of educational technologies and their effective integration in the classroom

  • Ability to provide professional development and support to other teachers in the use of digital tools

    Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in the field of educational technology
