Music Teacher
Salary MPS 1-6 / UPS 1-3
Part Time – 2 days a week
Shenley Brook End School is seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher of Music with an ability to teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will have a real drive to deliver exciting and innovative lessons and will be keen to teach Music within our school community. You will also have a determination to assist in and help develop participation and interest in extracurricular activities.
We have a team of 11 instrument teachers who teach 1:1 lessons on all woodwind, brass, percussion and string instruments. They support our students for their GCSE and A level performance coursework.
The music department runs a wide range of extra-curricular ensembles including orchestra, jazz band, string ensembles, wind ensembles and choir. There are opportunities for students to organise their own pop and rock bands, string quartets, etc.
As well as these we also hold solos concerts and recitals, we participate in local and national festivals and provide music roadshows to our local primary schools. We offer students the chance to attend a residential music week in the Peak District. Our annual school musical productions are always very popular and have included My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver, Wizard of Oz, High School Musical, Grease, Bugsy Malone, Beauty and the Beast, Annie among others.

- Have a passion for teaching
- Have experience of teaching across Key Stage 4 and 5, including exam groups
- Have a high regard for their learning environment and resources
- Aspire to be a talented, dynamic and an ambitious teacher, who will ensure good progress for all students
- Have the ability to inspire, engage and enthuse students
- Be skilled at fostering independent and collaborative student-led learning
