National Mathematics & Physics SCITT Operational Manager job summary

Due to the success and popularity of the National Mathematics & Physics (NMAP) SCITT (England’s only school based Mathematics and Physics subject specific initial teacher training provider), we are currently recruiting for additional staff. The National Mathematics & Physics SCITT is a School Centred Initial Teacher Training provider, offering Mathematics and Physics subject specialist teacher training. The SCITT is led by, and based at, Wycombe High School, and our programme is delivered via an expanding network of the very best state and independent schools across the country.

Now in our fourth year, we have grown from three Hubs with 13 trainees to eight Hubs and more than 70 trainees.  A new and exciting vacancy has arisen for an Operational Manager, with excellent interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills. 

The successful candidate will play a key role in the ongoing development and expansion of the SCITT.  S/he will lead a professional and effective administration team, ensuring that the SCITT is fully compliant with all legislation.

S/he will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to develop and maintain positive relationships with all SCITT stakeholders. S/he will be self-reliant and resilient and able to work on his/her own initiative to manage and meet deadlines.

Wycombe High School is a girls’ selective state academy school with 1304 students on roll, of whom around 400 are in the Sixth Form. Each year 192 girls are admitted into Year 7. All students are assigned to a vertical tutor group consisting of about 21 students; usually three students from each year. group There are six houses with 10 tutor groups in each house. Our school is part of the Wycombe High School Academies Trust. The school has educated girls of High Wycombe for over a hundred years and is very highly regarded in the local and wider community. There is a strong and shared sense of community and collective pride, built on core values. Parental support is strong. We have excellent links with other local schools, colleges and universities.
