Nursery Assistant job summary
As a Nursery Assistant, you will work as part of a highly committed team to provide high-quality care, education and support for children and their families. Under the direction of senior staff, you will:

Deliver engaging, balanced and age-appropriate learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage

Build warm, positive and secure relationships with children
- Support individual learning needs, including children with SEND
-
Work in partnership with parents, carers, health professionals and other agencies
-
Promote pro-social behaviour using restorative and developmentally appropriate approaches
-
Maintain a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment that prioritises children’s wellbeing
-
Contribute to children’s successful transitions into school
-
Follow all safeguarding, health & safety, confidentiality and medication procedures

Support students on placement where required
We are looking for someone who:
-
Holds a relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
-
Has experience working with children
-
Communicates effectively with children, families and colleagues
-
Can plan purposeful play opportunities that sustain children’s curiosity
-
Understands safeguarding procedures and is committed to maintaining a culture of vigilance
-
Works well as part of a team and builds strong professional relationships
-
Demonstrates a sensitive, inclusive and anti-oppressive approach to working with families
A paediatric First Aid qualification is desirable.
