Nursery Manager (full-time or term-time only) job summary

We are excited to announce an incredible opportunity to join Aurora Academies Trust as a full-time Nursery Manager, working across King Offa and Glenleigh Park Nurseries. This is a unique role offering the right person the chance to make a real difference to the lives of a large number of children and families, driving excellence in early years education across both nurseries. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with dynamic and dedicated staff, ensuring a high-quality learning environment for children.

About Us:

Aurora Academies Trust operates four nurseries across Bexhill and Eastbourne, all rated 'Good' or 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. At Glenleigh Park Nursery, we place children at the heart of everything we do, guided by our core values of Growth, Perseverance, Positivity, and Achievement. We ensure every child experiences personal, academic, and character growth, and we encourage perseverance and positivity in both learning and relationships. At King Offa our values are Knowledge, Opportunity, Pride and Achievement. We teach children to embrace Knowledge: to see opportunities in difficulty and challenges, to take pride in themselves and to achieve their very best!

Both nurseries share very closely aligned values following a child-centered approach, alongside the latest research and best practices in Early Years education. This includes embedding principles from the Curiosity Approach, fostering a love for exploration and discovery, and helping children develop confidence, and a lifelong passion for learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operation of both nurseries, ensuring high standards of care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Lead and support a team, fostering professional development and a collaborative approach.
  • Work closely with families, creating strong partnerships to support each child’s development.
  • Drive continuous improvement, staying informed of current legislation and research in early childhood education, such as the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the latest Strong Foundation in the First Years reports.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Level 3 childcare qualification as a minimum (Level 5 or above preferred) with substantial management experience in an early years setting.
  • A deep understanding of the EYFS framework and current trends in early years education.
  • A proven ability to lead and inspire teams, with a passion for nurturing children's growth and development.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and families.

We Offer:

  • A full time or term-time plus one week contract.
  • The chance to work across two vibrant nurseries, providing a wider impact on the early years community.
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities and access to the latest training.
  • A supportive and innovative working environment that values staff.
  • The opportunity to work collaboratively with our network of nurseries and colleagues from reception classes across the Trust
  • A generous benefits package: Aurora Academies Advantage Scheme, including online GP appointments, health and well-being support, discounts to high-street shops, and more.

Join us in shaping the future of early years education at Aurora Academies Trust, where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring children receive the best start in life.

If you are ready to embrace this exciting challenge and make a difference in the lives of children and families, we would love to hear from you!

Applications will be shortlisted as they are received, and we reserve the right to interview and appoint before the closing date. Early applications are strongly encouraged.

The salary shown reflects an interim 2024/2025 pay award, pending completion of the negotiations between the National Employers and the Trade Unions. The difference between this and what is agreed as the final pay award will be paid as a lump sum back pay, when announced by the government and the Trade Unions.

Aurora Academies Trust is committed to the safeguarding of pupils and we follow safer recruitment practice. References will be taken up prior to interview and an enhanced criminal records bureau check will be made prior to appointment.

Glenleigh Park is a school that can offer exceptional professional development opportunities, high levels of support and the chance to make a real difference to pupils’ outcomes. We work closely with other schools in our Trust and there are many opportunities to share ideas and learn from each other.

Our large modern building, with extensive grounds, provides a fantastic learning environment. Glenleigh Park Primary Academy and Nursery is at the very heart of the Sidley community, and we are committed to our families; making sure that the education we provide for the pupils will raise standards and aspirations for everyone.

Over the past few years, we have redesigned our curriculum, so it ensures that our teaching actively engages pupils to deepen and embed key concepts and skills as well as the transfer of knowledge across the curriculum. Also, we believe that every pupil can be a reader. We work in partnership with Hackney Learning Trust to deliver Daily Supported Reader and Destination Reader and have invested in Reading Recovery as an integral part of our approach to reading; ensuring that no pupil leaves Glenleigh Park unable to read and write and all pupils enjoy reading for pleasure. In addition, we teach phonics from nursery using the Ruth Miskin Read Write Inc programme. We have adopted a mastery approach to the teaching of mathematics and have a trained specialist teacher leading maths.

Glenleigh Park is a fun, exciting and supportive place to work. We set ourselves ambitious targets and know these can be achieved by working together.

Glenleigh Park Primary Academy and Nursery is part of Aurora Academies Trust, an organisation that is committed to nurturing and developing talent. Our seven schools spanning nursery, primary and secondary provision are all judged to be good or better by Ofsted.
