What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and excellent individual to join our EYFS team. The ideal candidate will support the EYFS class teachers with the overall delivery of the curriculum by undertaking work/care/support programmes in order to enable access to learning for all pupils.

The ideal candidate will:
- Have a Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator).
- Have Maths and English to GCSE Grade C or equivalent.
- Have previous experience of working in a nursery setting.
- Have experience of working with children who have SEN/EAL.
- Have paediatric first aid.
- Love encouraging, motivating and inspiring young children through the support they give in order to encourage their learning.
- Have an understanding of behaviour management.
- Be committed to our ethos that all pupils can achieve at our SHARE Primary Academies.
- Have great references demonstrating they are a suitable candidate, safe to work with children.

Further details about the role
Key Outputs:
1. Undertake activities necessary to facilitate the holistic development of individuals and groups of children, those with Special Needs – including gifted and talented children.
2. To record and monitor children’s development as required by the school.
3. Actively engage in any pre-determined educational activities and work programmes.
4. To liaise with parents and carers as appropriate.
5. Monitor any concerns arising with individual children and report these to their designated supervisor as appropriate.
6. To participate in the general care and behaviour management of the children.
7. Take part in home visits when required.
8. To liaise with other agencies i.e. Speech Therapist, Hearing and Visually Impaired Services, as required.
9. To attend meetings relevant to the performance of the post holder and the nursery provision.
10. To support colleagues in all aspects of Nursery provision as required.
11. Undertake relevant training to enhance the performance of duties and personal development.
12. To assist in the monitoring and evaluation of practices and procedures as necessary.
13. Liaise with team members as required to highlight particular needs of individual children.
14. Supervise the activities of individuals or groups of children to ensure their well-being and safety (inside and outside).
15. To participate in promoting a quality curriculum that upholds, established school policies, regarding sensitivity to the needs and requirements of different ethnic and social backgrounds.
16. To participate in the preparation of equipment and materials for each nursery/unit/class session.
17. To participate in the presentation of children’s work and the compilation of displays.
18. To assist in the maintenance of equipment and materials in the nursery.
19. Assist in maintaining stock and resources, ordering new replacements as agreed with colleagues, to support the work across the team in its delivery of services.
20. As part of your wider duties and responsibilities, you are required to promote and actively support the school’s responsibilities towards safeguarding and data protection procedures.
21. Carry out your duties with due regard to current and future school policies, procedures and relevant legislation. These will be drawn to your attention in your appointment letter, your statement of particulars, induction, and on-going performance development and through school communications.
22. Any other responsibilities commensurate within the requirements for this role or as directed by the Headteacher/CEO and flexibility to support colleagues across team as required.
Essential Criteria:
- Be able to demonstrate high standards of numeracy and literacy.
- Experience of working with nursery age children in school for at least 2 years.
- Experience of working with children who have SEN/EAL.
- Experience of teaching individuals, groups and whole classes.
- Ability to engage and influence others.
- Experience of working across classes.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent behaviour management skills.
- Commitment to the safeguarding of young people.
- Ability to monitor and evaluate impact of interventions and strategies.
- Working knowledge of relevant policies and codes of practice – e.g. Every Child Matters, Safeguarding.
- Has the ability to travel around the local area for key events, including transporting pupils.
• Is willing to work flexibly within scope of overall hours, e.g. evening meetings.
