Nursery Practitioner/Deputy Nursery Manager job summary

St Marys is looking for a NVQ Level 3 in Early Years and Care or equivalent to join this fantastic Nurser based in St Mary's school in the heart of Fairford Leys in Aylesbury on a fixed term contract until 31st August 2023.

The  role within St Marys school is of key importance. You will be responsible for providing the children and teaching staff which the support they need to Shine. 

Support children with Educational Healthcare Plans on a 1:1 basis as required

As Deputy Nursery Manager:

  • The Deputy Nursery Manager is a qualified childcare professional with the responsibility for the day to day running of their room.
  • They perform an important role caring for children, maintaining a high quality, stimulating learning environment, supervising staff and imparting their knowledge and skills to others.
  • They are creative and reflective leaders able to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to continually improve practice and support the management team.

As Nursery Practitioner:

  • Work with the Nursery Team to raise the learning and attainment of pupils 
  • Promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion 
  • Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
  • Support children with Educational Healthcare Plans on a 1:1 basis as required
