Over the past six years our school has dramatically changed. In January 2013, the school was placed into an Ofsted category of ‘Serious Weaknesses.’
In 2014, our school converted and joined BDAT. In December 2016 we received a “Good” SIAMS Inspection rating and in July 2017 we were judged as “Good” by Ofsted.
In November 2017, when Clayton St John also joined BDAT, I became Executive Headteacher over both academies.
Our MAT is becoming ever-stronger, and offers us a great deal of support from the central staff as well as through the network of Primary and Secondary Academies joining BDAT. As a Church of England Primary Academy, we ensure that our pupils are given every opportunity to achieve their potential within an environment where they feel confident to express their faith – whether our pupils are Christian, Muslim, any other faith or follow no particular faith.Here at St Philip’s we are passionate about ensuring that our pupils get every opportunity to do their best. To enable this to happen, we offer our staff a supportive network and great CPD opportunities. St Philip’s is a one form entry primary academy at the heart of Girlington.
Our vision is to provide an outstanding education, raise expectations and aspirations, promoting achievement for all in our community.
The successful candidate will:
• Be an excellent teacher or highly successful and ambitious NQT with a proven track record of securing good or better outcomes for pupils.
• Have experience of teaching and knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
• Have knowledge and understanding of assessment of EYFS and how to use it and communicate this information effectively to raise standards.
• Be committed to maintaining and developing the Christian character of the academy.
• Be committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children
