What skills and experience we're looking for

To carry out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with the school's policies under the direction of the Head teacher, and responsible for SEND.

SENDCo qualification

Successful experience or teaching practice within the Early Years Foundation Stage

High quality teaching skills

Understanding of the EYFS curriculum and ability to deliver broad, balanced and exciting learning opportunities

Working with SEND children

Leading SEND provision / interventions

Understanding of assessment, recording, reporting and monitoring practices

Without exception, promote Lee Royd Nursery School’s strong educational ethos and values

An excellent teacher with thorough knowledge and ability to deliver a broad and exciting curriculum

SEND code of practice

Understanding of effective assessment strategies to meet the learning needs of all pupils

Understanding of effective learning – recognising, planning and providing for different learning style.

Ability to plan to meet the needs of all groups of pupils – demonstrating high expectations and standards

Ability to form and maintain excellent relationships with all members of our school community

Ability to use ICT effectively within teaching and learning to enhance pupil progress

Ability to provide a stimulating, well organised and high quality learning environment

Ability to use a range of positive behaviour strategies to effectively promote outstanding behaviour for learning

Ability to use data, assessment and target setting to impact positively on pupil progress

Familiarity with writing and delivering effective Individual Education Plans for pupils with SEND

Willingness to participate in school activities, including extra-curricular activities and school-related community events

Be a positive and professional role model at all times, a highly respected representative of Lee Royd Nursery School.

Ability to prioritise time using effective organisational skills and a high level of personal motivation
