What skills and experience we're looking for
Christ Church CE Primary School is proud to announce the opening of a new purpose-built Nurture Hub on the school grounds in September 2025 as part of the Local Authority initiative in partnership with Nurture UK. We are looking to recruit a dynamic team to lead the hub including an experienced teacher and teaching assistant. The lead will be directly involved in creating and managing a safe, supportive environment for students struggling with social, emotional, and mental health needs.The role focuses on fostering a nurturing atmosphere, implementing interventions, and collaborating with staff to help students reintegrate back into the classroom.
Key responsibilities of a Nurture Hub Lead include:
- Creating a Nurturing Environment:
Establish and maintain a space where students feel safe, understood, and supported, fostering positive relationships and building trust.
- Implementing Nurture Approaches:
Apply principles of trauma-informed and restorative practices, creating a sense of belonging and promoting positive social and emotional development.
- Curriculum Development and Delivery:
Develop and deliver a tailored curriculum, often with a focus on literacy and other core subjects, while also providing individualized support through 1:1 or small group interventions.
- Assessment and Progress Tracking:
Use Boxall profiling to identify pupils who would benefit from nurture. Regularly assess students' progress and adjust interventions as needed, maintaining accurate records of their development.
- Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop support plans and ensure a consistent approach to supporting students.
- Leading and Managing:
Lead the Nurture Hub team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Advocacy and Representation:
Advocate for the needs of the students, representing the Nurture Hub within the school and broader community
